This week both Career and Volunteer members trained on master stream deployment and operations.
Master streams are fire suppression/water delivery appliance that have the capability of delivering over 300 gallons of water per minute. Firefighting Foam Operations was on this week’s schedule.
Water alone is not effective for extinguishing fires involving flammable liquids, as just water will splash the ignited liquid, and potentially spread the fire. Mixing water with a foam concentrate, creates a blanket over flammable liquids, smothering & extinguishing flames; as well and suppressing vapors, preventing ignition.

Books vs Badges Basketball Game

Yesterday, Fire Department members teamed up with our friends over at City of Peekskill Police Department, and challenged some Peekskill Middle School teachers to a friendly game of basketball.
