Air Bag Drill

This week’s training topic was a review of our compressed air lifting bags. These air bags are designed to lift objects in excess of several thousand pounds, to rescue a victim that may be trapped under the weight of the object. Members practiced lifting a vehicle with the air bags, while simultaneously capturing the load with cribbing (stacked wood and composite blocks), to ensure the vehicle would not fall in the event of an equipment failure, potentially further injuring a victim.
