| This afternoon, at a ceremony held at Fire Headquarters, two new Fire Lieutenants and a Probationary Firefighter were sworn in by Mayor Vivian McKenzie. The first part of the ceremony was to swear in Probationary Firefighter Dominick Marinello. PFF Marinello began his career with the Peekskill Fire Department today, will spend another day of orientation tomorrow; and will then will be assigned to the Westchester County Career Fire Academy, for the next 20 weeks. We’re glad to welcome PFF Marinello to our ranks. In the second part of the ceremony, Firefighters Chris Rimm and Patrick McGinnis both took oath and were promoted to Lieutenant. -Lieutenant Rimm is a 10 year veteran of the department, and has served several roles within the department; including Municipal Fire Instructor, IT/Software and Radio communications coordinator. -Lieutenant McGinnis is a 21 year veteran of the department. He has served a number of roles as well, as a Municipal Fire Instructor and Building Maintenance and Supply coordinator. Both new Lieutenants will be assigned as relief officers, filling vacancies on shifts. A special thanks to Mayor McKenzie & the Common Council, City Manager Matt Alexander, and all of the family and friends for attending this special event! Congratulations to all three of today’s honorees on their new positions in the department. We look forward to working with them in their new roles! |
