| This week’s topic covered Engine Company Operations, specifically hose deployment and operations. This topic is designed to allow members to choose a specific type of hose deployment scenario to practice. These drills also gave our newer members the opportunity to practice pump skills. The diameter and load of hose we deploy for a fire is dependent on a number of factors; such as, distance, obstacles, building type, and number of floors. Being proficient on a variety of hose stretches, keeps our members prepared for different circumstances we could encounter in the field, ensuring we get a hose line in place, and water on a fire as quickly as possible. |
