March 15, 2026

Today, at noon, PFD along with several EMS and Police/Marine resources, were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the Hudson River near Travis Point. Upon arrival, a vehicle was located in the river, about 10-20 feet from the shore near the Peekskill Yacht Club. First arriving crews determined the occupant of the vehicle was able to make it to shore safely, and was evaluated by EMS. The Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD was requested for their dive team, to assist with removing the vehicle from the water. The vehicle occupant escaped with no injuries, and the vehicle was successfully removed from the water. PFD crews supported the vehicle removal operation. Our thanks to all of the agencies that responded to assist on both the water and land.
